Seed Savers Early Purple Sprouting Broccoli

Seed Savers Early Purple Sprouting Broccoli

Heirloom, Non-GMO, Open-Pollinated. This broccoli variety grows slowly in temperate winters and produces an abundance of spectacular purple, buttery-soft, and nutty-flavored shoots in the spring. Originally listed in John Mason’s 1793 seed catalog, it yields both florets that can be eaten fresh in salads or steamed or stir-fried as a side dish and leaves that add flavor and texture to stir-fries and salads.

  • Start Indoors: 6-8 weeks before the last frost
  • Sow seeds indoors 1/4ā€ deep
  • Germination: 3–10 days.
